The D.P.F.I. Dental Practitioners Forum Of India, the brain child of Dr. G. K. Gupta, came into existence by the collective effort of Dr. Y. K. Virmani, Dr. Anil Kumar Arya, Dr. Ramesh Gupta, Dr. Rishi Raj etc. and above all Dr. G. K. Gupta who left no stone unturned to make this D.P.F.I. a reality.
Initially group of dentist met informally in Dec 01 to discuss about the possibility of such an association. It was decided in that meeting, to hold a formal get together with more no. of dentist of the area and then a sponsored (Innodent Dental Dealer) host the lunch and meeting was held on 24th April 2002 with about 100 Doctors participation.
Almost every one agreed to idea of forming such an association of practitioners and that was the beginning of D.P.F.I with 48 charter members on the same day. Dr. G. K. Gupta was unanimously elected the chairman and Dr. Anil Aggarwal was selected for the most tiring job of Hony. Secretary.
It was unamously decided to name this association as Dental Practitioners Forum. The response of the forum was so over welcoming from other states also that it was decided to make this forum a national body and with the membership increasing from other states, Dental Practitioners Forum turned into Dental Practitioners Forum of India.
Then we faced the difficult task of forming constitution of the body and getting it registered.
A committee of Dr. G. K. Gupta, Dr. Anil Agarwal, Dr. Y. K. Virmani, Dr. Anil Kumar Arya, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Dr. Vikas Aggarwal and Dr. Anil Mittal (Jr.) was formed, to make the constitution, a reality. Dr. Anil Mittal (Jr.) gave his whole hearted support in the process of constitution forming.
However some very crucial matters formed by the constitution committee were edited by the final screening body, before registration.
The D.P.F.I. was then registered on 19th June 2002 and that was the beginning of reforms. |
